Luke Skywalker

Meet Luke Skywalker, a 2-year-old, 14-pound Pomeranian mix who’s full of energy and personality. Luke is a playful, energetic little guy who loves to be active. He knows his basic commands and is food-motivated, which makes training him a breeze. He’s also potty trained in his foster home and loves outdoor adventures, especially trips to the park where he can run and play.

While he’s friendly and fun, Luke does need a little help on the leash. He can be leash reactive (barks, pulls, growl of excitement) and might need some extra guidance in this area. He’s also a bit anxious when left alone, so he’d be happiest in a home with another dog, particularly one that’s bigger than him. He feels more comfortable when he has a dog companion or if someone is home during the day to keep him company.

Luke’s past owner mentioned that he can be possessive to his human. He might growl if he feels threatened or protective, but he’s never aggressive unless he’s in a situation where he feels the need to guard his human. He’s really good with pack dynamics, though, and once you establish the rules, he’ll happily follow. He is very smart and eager to please his family--he just needs a second to adjust in his home and to know that he is there forever and will be loved!

Luke would do well in an active home with another dog who can match his energy. He loves to play and would thrive in a setting where he can burn off all his excitement and keep his mind engaged. He is very smart and very playful, and he likes to talk to you with his eyes and voice when he is excited and is ready for play time at the park.
