Meadow

Male

2 Years

19 Pounds

Mr. Meadow is the most handsome guy that wants nothing more than to hang out with you. He will follow you from room to room, content to just plop on the floor beside you. He gets post-breakfast zoomies with his foster sibling and loves chasing squeaky toys, but is otherwise pretty easygoing in the home.

Speaking of breakfast...this boy can EAT. At 20 lbs he is a stocky fellow with a healthy appetite, showing off his 360 spins before getting his food. Not a fan of carrots or apples, but he does love his beef jerky treats! His foster mom is currently using a busy bowl to help him slow down.

While he's a mellow guy in his foster apartment, he is leash reactive (barks, pulls, growls, nips) and unsure of new dogs.  Occasionally, he will bark at a person that makes him nervous--especially on earlier morning potty walks if he's unfamiliar with them.  He will need extra obedience training-- routines and continued exposure to new situations are going to help him a lot.  His foster mom has found that pack walks are a good way to get him a sense of ease with other familiar dogs.  He can get a little tired after a mile or so-- more of a short stroll or lounge in the yard kinda guy!

He lives peacefully with a chill foster cat and a 13-lb pom--if either of them say "enough sniffing, sir" he knows to back off and give space. As for quiet time, he will either choose to sleep in the open crate or on the floor by his foster parents' bed. For the most part, he has chosen one human to follow around, but is loving toward both people in the house.  He has been tested with an older, much smaller dog and found to be a bit too intense for her, so he does need to learn his place.

Meadow is making strides in potty training and will still need a little help here-- for the most part he knows to go outside but can have small accidents if his "I gotta go out!" signals aren't caught in time (belly bands can be useful).

Overall Meadow is an affectionate, loving boy and would do well in a home where he can have a nice balance of relaxation and play time. Because of his reactivity he would do best with patient, experienced owners that are willing to continue his training, either as a solo pup or with a more confident alpha pup to help him out.
