Calypso

Female

10 Months

9 Pounds

Calypso is a sweet, loving, intelligent and very active dog. She knows sit, down, and learned to use the dog door on her own. She would do well in a dog sport like agility if she had an owner with that interest.  Due to her unique hair her grooming needs are extremely low maintenance. She can essentially be washed and air dries quickly. She does well with confident cats but may chase ones that run-she is however non aggressive towards them.

She has no issues being in a crate overnight or for 4-6 hours if needed if she is alone in the home. Ideally she will be crated when alone as her house breaking is not 100% but she is very close. She is still very much a puppy and will get into things and chew them but nothing outside of the norm for a young dog. Calypso is very friendly towards strangers but has some leash reactivity while on walks. She just gets so excited to meet others! Calypso already had her heart surgery to repair a genetic defect, so SHE IS HEALTHY AND HAPPY!! She has zero health issues and is ready for her forever home. She was thrown in a dumpster in an alleyway, so she so deserves the most loving home. Thankfully, most of her life has been spent playing and running with other foster dogs.

She has met children aged 10-12 and done well with them but has had no exposure to young children or babies. She would love to live in a home with another active dog or would do well in a home where humans are around a lot. Calypso is VERY loving and enjoys being part of the adventure, regardless of that adventure being with humans or other dogs. She loves to run with her doggy friends and play fetch. She is always down for a good playfight session with other playful dogs. She is a very smart girl and learns quickly with positive reinforcement and consistency. Calypso enjoys treats and spending any of her time playing, cuddling, and watching her human bake yummy treats!
